Whilst I always find the colour combination's of the Kaleidoscope's interesting, this kit is definitely the most challenging. It contains Ionic (peach nude), Sky (baby blue), Magnetic (copper) and Equinox (intense indigo).
The first three shades are more of a satin finish, with the lighter two having a tiny amount of very fine sparkle, the darkest shade is a semi matte. So you have two warms and two cools.
I've really tried with this but I cannot get a look from it that I am happy with, but I wanted to show you these so you can see how the colours apply.
I think my problem is with the differing intensities of the colours, as the peach and pale blue are sheer whereas the copper and violet are intense, in fact the violet is so pigment heavy that I mainly use it as a liner as I don't find it blends well. I feel like this kit is lacking a transitional medium colour intensity shadow and because of this I feel like the colours just stand apart too much.
Below I have layered the first three shades together,
Apart from the darkest shade, the shadows have the usual smooth texture and blendable quality that we get from Le Metier.
So ultimately I am not using the colours together as intended and much prefer using them separately with other shades.

Sadly I missed out on the Kaleidoscope from Zuneta... they're rather pricey compared to the retail price in the US. The purple shade looks really nice on you though.

Have you tried layering them in the couches de couleurs technique yet? I would layer the top three shades top to bottom on the lid into the crease then add the bottom shade near the lash line more like a liner but graduated up a touch. See how that works out for you. Hopefully you will find something that you love. I didn't pick this one up but the shades do look lovely.

DeleteI did try layering the first three shades but it comes off looking a bit too pink against my skin and I felt it made me look a bit tired, I'm determined to get it to work for me though, I'll probably hit pan at this rate as I keep trying different ways to use it :)

I tend to wear these in duos rather than all 4. While I like the kaleidoscope, it's far from my favorite from Le Metier.

DeleteThank you :) It is a bit spendy, though I think it works out cheaper than buying four seperate shadows, this is what I tell myself ;)
I think this would have been easier to wear with a taupey/beige/brown shade in it too - a transitional shade, like you say. I do like the bottom look though.

I have to admit that I wasn't really tempted by this kaleidoscope as I'm rather light blue phobic! From your review, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to create a look from it. Like Grace, I do like the bottom look on you. Are you tempted to depot? ;D

DeleteI think because of the Le Metier drought I got a bit confused on the launch and didn't think this one through as its not the kind of colours I'd normally go for.
You know I did try to depot this after I saw PerilouslyPale's post about them having holes you can just poke the shadows though and you know what I couldn't do it right, they just wouldn't move and I ended up making holes in the bit around the eyeshadow instead, that my dear is how much I suck at depotting..hangs head in shame at another fail...xx
