Pai are probably my most re-bought skincare line. The products suit
my sensitive skin and as such they have become fail safe items that
I always seem to return to and I always feel confident trying other
products from the range.
The Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil (£20) is geared towards all
skintypes. The oil is meant to improve skin firmness and elasticity
and help improve the appearance of scars, sun damage and fine lines.
Its a very concentrated fruit hip oil and the high levels of Trans
Retinoic Acid convert to Vitamin A to help the skin heal.
I need about 3/4 drops to cover my face, though it doesn't run down
your face like a lot of oils, you can very much feel it to the touch
so I don't feel like it completely adsorbs. It makes my skin feel
smoother and overtime general redness decreased slightly,
however where I find this work best for me is as a cystic healer. I
detest cystic spots; they hurt, feel really itchy, scream
at people to stare at them as they protrude from the skin, and for
me they take months or years to heal. As someone with acne prone and
sensitive skin I should stick with what works, but of course I get
tempted by new things and unfortunately sometimes I get break outs
and sometimes they are cystic.
Using this oil everyday over a cystic really took down the itchiness
and pain, calmed the area and the healing time was the quickest I've
ever had. So for me I'll always keep one of these handy for this
reason alone. It should be noted that on the packaging they advise
not using this oil on acne prone skin, so you may have a
different experience than me.
The avocado and Jojoba Hydrating Day Cream (£19) which I reviewed back in 2009 but the formula feels different now, has a thicker
consistency compared to their sensitive or combination day creams.
It applies really smooth and doesn't ball up when you rub it in. Its
very hydrating, the skin is left soft with any dry areas gone.
However, although I don't feel that it leaves my dry skin greasy, I
can really feel this on the skin so I think its a tad too heavy for
me, and though its recommend for dry skin (which I have) I think its
one for those with very dry skin. The chamomile Rosehip
Sensitive Skin cream remains my favourite moisturiser from Pai
(I'm on my third bottle of it)
The Rice Plant & Rosemary BioAffinity Toner (£30) contains pure
'living waters' extracted directly from the plant.
This toner is
meant to calm, rebalance and decongest combination and sensitive
skin. It doesn't leave my skin really moisturised like the Lotus
& Orange Blossom toner, so I tend to use this for the warmer
months.I don't get any irritation from this and it does feel calming
and refreshing on the skin. Though its not something I necessarily
felt I needed, going a few weeks not using it I did notice my skin
was more congested and just looked more uneven in tone. I do really
like the Pai toners but I still think they are overpriced for the
size you get (50ml)
I bought all these from paiskincare.com
I love this toner but agree it is mega bucks! I was lucky to win one, loved using it though x
ReplyDeleteHi Beauty Balm,
DeleteYes, I get through the toners so quickly, they are really nice though :)
It's good being able to find a range you can rely on and I love how Pai (apart from the toner) are not overly pricey.
ReplyDeleteAlso thanks for the info about using the oil on a cystic spot - I haven't tried this so will give it a go.
Hi Meeta,
DeleteI really am glad to have found the range, I'll always try other brands here and there but Pai will be my stand by. I'll be interested to see if the oil works for you the same as for me x
Do you find the Rice Plant & Rosemary BioAffinity toner has an odd and slightly unpleasant smell? I'm pretty sure it's the rice to blame. I wanted to love this toner but I suspect I would have been better off getting the Lotus & Orange Blossom.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your review of the other products. I'm almost certain from what you have said, that the moisturiser would be too rich for me. I'm still intrigued by the oil.
xx
Hi Jane,
DeleteYes it does have a smell about it, I'm on my second one of this toner so think I might have got use to it ;) I think you are right that the Lotus one might be more for you.
I would be interested in seeing your thoughts on the oil if you got it, I think you would notice the skin softness it gives if you used it of a night time.
Have you tried the chamomile moisturiser, that has just the right amount of mositure/slip to it and does not feel heavy? xx
The oil is next on my list of Pai products to try. I can't believe how well they work on my skin xx
ReplyDeleteHi Georgia,
DeleteThey do seem to suit most people, a great range for sensitive skin xx
I really really need to check this brand out, every single review I ever read piques my interest a little more!
ReplyDeleteHi Charlie,
DeleteIt is a very well regarded brand, I think most people tend to start with the cleanser and then go from there :)
I love the Chamomile & Rosehip moisturiser. Pai is the brand I always recommend for people who find their skin reacts to everything.
ReplyDeleteThe rosehip oil looks brilliant.
Hi Grace,
DeleteI agree that its a good one for those who have reactive skin. I do hope they expand the line more, haircare would be good I think.
The rosehip oil is well worth a try I think, I like that its not clogging like a lot of oils out there x
Thank you for this review, do you maybe know how the pai oil compares to REN's rose oil(serum)?
ReplyDeleteHi Claire,
DeleteI've not tried the Ren rose oil unfortunately so cannot compare, I don't do to well with Ren as what I have tried tends to either break out or I get irritation.
I found the Pai's rosehip oil just a little on the active side for me which is a shame because every other product has been great. I especially liked the Rice Plant & Rosemary toner just perfect if a tad on the expensive side. Thankyou for a fab comprehensive overview. xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Jan :) Thats a shame about the oil, do you have skin issues with other products that contain rosehip or do you think its just because of the concentration?
