Guerlain new KissKiss lipstick review

Guerlain has recently revamped the KissKiss lipstick. They are now packaged in sleek shiny black with gold accents.

The collection consists of 25 shades, some with visible shimmer others not. There were some beautiful deep shades that I was tempted by but in the end I went for the more everyday shades.

Priced at £26 each, #368 Baby Rose is one of the shimmer shades. Its a cool toned pink with gold micro glitter.

It has a nice shimmery finish though unfortunately I found the glitter particles a bit gritty in feel and the colour did not apply as evenly as I would have hoped.

#303 Beige Booster is, despite its name, a natural rosy shade.

It has a sheen finish and an extremely smooth texture and applies evenly.

The KissKiss formula is enriched with mango butter which gives it a nice creamy texture, both lipsticks feel hydrating and have an average wear time.
Swatched below:Baby Rose, Beige Booster

Ingredients below (the lipsticks are scented):

I really like the formula of Beige Booster and will likely buy more of the KissKiss range, but based on my experience of Baby Rose I will avoid any more of the shimmer shades.

I bought these from John Lewis.

  1. Oh thank you for these Clare! I just posted about the new launch today and I'm considering Rosy Beige which from the picture doesn't seem to have any glitter. :)

    1. Its a shame they don't list which ones are the glitter ones or not, especially if ordering online. I think I might try one of the deeper shades next :)

  2. yeah, the shimmer doesn't sound desirable but they sure look like nice lipsticks! I wasn't planning on getting any of these until reading your review!

  4. The new packaging is so swanky! Black, gold bricks plus the KISS X KISS embossing, perfecto. Have my eye on Beige Booster ;)

    1. Beige Booster has quickly become a staple :) I really like the design as well, would be nice if Guerlain would roll it out with the rest of their products as the line is a bit mish-mash in terms of packaging at the moment.

  5. Yes, it will be more collectible if the packaging were more uniform. I hope they'll lean more towards the black/gold though.

  6. I like the look of Beige Booster, so pretty. The casing is very stylish, I'm a sucker for nice lipstick casings. Thanks for the review Clare, I'll definitely pick a non shimmer version.

  7. I bought Fabulous Rose which has a silver glitter in it. I absolutely hate it because of the formula. Ugh why did they think it was necessary to put glitter in?

    1. The glitter is a mistake, such a shame as the non glitter version is really great, though I have seen some of the larger blogs reviewing these with no mention of problem with the glitter shades so whether its just these two shades?

    2. A mistake or perhaps it's a question of personal preference and tolerance. Some people are irritated by a single spek of glitter whereas others can just about coat their lips in it with no problem. Look at the success of Rouge Automatique Shine. Quite a bit of glitter to be found within that offering, but lots of people love the Shines. Personally, I think it is nice that there's not just a range of colors but also a range of finishes. To each his own :-)

    3. Hi Eileen,
Yes, I can only speak from my point of view and I've had a lot of glitter lipsticks that have not had this gritty feel before. I think the range has tried to cater for all with different tones and finishes which is a good thing, just simply the case that the feel of the glitter shade is a let down for me personally.
