Chanel Rouge Noir Absolument Holiday 2015: Signe Particulier, Coups de Minuit & Vaporeuse

So far not many holiday collections have caught my attention but I always have a soft spot for Chanel holiday offerings.

I decided that I needed to get the Signe Particulier Eyeshadow Quad  after seeing Lena's post here and I have to say I'm really pleased with it. Whilst the shadows aren't quite as soft/buttery as the 2012 Harmonie du Soir palette they do have good pigment, apply evenly and blend well.

The quad contains a sheer shimmery pale lilac pink, satin grey/taupe, metallic yellow gold and satin burgundy. I love the shot of the warm gold against the smoky purple hues.

Shown below, I've used the taupe and burgundy really lightly as they go on quite intense on my skin.

Ingredients:

Coups de Minuit (12) Joues Contraste Lumiere is a sheer beige with a hint of peach, it has a sheen finish.

The colour is a touch deep on my pale skin to use as standalone highlighter, yet does not impart enough colour to use as a blusher so instead I use this over blushers and it really does add a pretty effect.
It has a smooth texture and blends wonderfully on the skin without highlighting pores. The only downside for me is the wear as I get fading after 5 hours.

Swatched below with some more typical highlighter colours L-R: Burberry Nude Radiance Highlighting Powder, Coups de Minuit and Dior Starlight.

Ingredients:

My wild card was the Rouge Allure in #237 Vaporeuse. Often lighter shades of the Rouge Allures can go on uneven/patchy and make lines look more noticeable, but I took a chance on this as it felt a lot more creamy when I swatched it.

I do find this more forgiving than a lot of lighter RA, though do recommend smoothing the lips prior to application. The colour is a cool pink with a hint of mauve, its just verging on the too pale, too ice bitten look but manages to work to give a delicate cool pink tint to the lips.

Ingredients:

I'm really happy with everything I bought, though as a complete look I think Vaporeuse does not work with the colours of the Signe Particulier Quad.
I have started to see less than favourable reviews for Signe Particulier on other blogs, and though I did not encounter any problems with application/pigment myself this might be one worth testing in store before buying to check you are happy with the pigment and feel.

I bought these from Boots.

  1. Hi Claire, wow the gold make the blue of your eyes pop, so pretty. I didn't like how the quad swatched but will try it out on the eyes today. You are fair so this might be how it shows up on you so well. I left the highlighter which is exactly my skin tone and doesn't show up at all on me. Too bad because looks so pretty.

    1. Thanks, I'll be interested to see how the quad applies on you, I was surprised how well it showed on me given some of the reviews I've seen. What a shame about the highlighter for you, I like this one so much more than last year's offering.

  3. Thank you for the link love, Clare! <3
I am loving the look you're showing us here. How pretty!
I was just working on a look post using this quad although I don't feel that I've completely figured out how to wear all 4 colors.
I don't think I will pick up any of the lip products from the collection, but I still want the blush very much. Should make a decision before it's gone. :)

    1. No problem, glad you enticed me in the first place :)
Glad you liked the look, the gold really steals the show I think. I do really like the blush, I think it should work on your skin tone.

  5. I saw the Quad in the shops last week, but as beautiful as it was it just didn't do it for me. The Gold and the pale Lilac were just not shades I'd wear often enough.

    1. Sounds like you made the right choice, not worth it if the colours are not ones you'd wear, mind you I didn't think I'd like the gold much so was surprised that I liked it.

  6. The quad looks great on you! I am so tempted to get it. Rouge Allure #237 Vaporeuse is just the type of shade I am always drawn to :)

I'm really pleased with Vaporeuse, these types of shades tend o look horrid on me but this one is jut right, will keep an eye out to see if you succumb to it x
