Chanel Rouge Allure Winter 2015 Collection: Rouge Allure Velvet La Mysterieuse

The new Rouge Allure collection features 4 Rouge Allures (2 regular, 2 velvets), 3 Rouge Allure glosses and some nail polishes and lip liners. Some of the items are from the permanent line making it a rather concise collection.
I wasn't planning on buying anything but when I spotted the display it occurred to me that I might not have tried the Rouge Allure Velvet lip formula. Completely aghast with this realisation I corrected the wrong doing and bought the limited edition Rouge Allure Velvet in La Mysterieuse.




When I came back home the bitter sweetness of having a blog became apparent when I saw that I did in fact buy a Rouge Allure Velvet way back in 2011 and my review was a bit sub-par, well what a dampener on my new shiny purchase.....
The lipstick has a velvety feel and applies really smooth, however it does feel clingy and sinks into lip lines a bit, its not uncomfortably drying but lacks the level of hydration I prefer. On the plus side its richly pigmented, wear time is really good and the colour is just lush, its a medium to deep rose, the base is matte but there is a subtle gold sheen to it which helps it not look flat.

Whilst the formula is not my favourite, I really am enjoying this saturated colour that brightens up the complexion, which I really need at the moment, as I am rocking a tired, drab look courtesy of my teething sleepless baby.
Overall I think this collection is worth a peruse and it serves to wet the appetite for the upcoming Vamp Attitude Holiday collection.

    I've yet to try any chanel products, but the lipsticks in this collection caught my eye! It seems worth looking into!

      I can see you wering this shade, I buy quite a lot of Chanel lipsticks so do think they are worth you trying :)

    I think (aside from the nail polish which I love!) lipsticks are really the standout product from Chanel. So many formulas and lots of shades...and best of all; no overly scented or flaky lips when wearing these.

      I agree, I think I have more Chanel lipsticks than any other brand, looking forward to seeing their Holiday shades.

    Hi dear! What a pretty colour this one! I've not try Chanel lipsticks until now but I'm very tempted to! We are at the endless search of the perfect balance between moisturizing and pigmentation.. I really suggest you Collistar lipsticks, they are among the best ones I own :-) Have a good day dear!       I do like a Chanel lipstick, the Coco Rouge and shines are my favourite formulas from them. We have Collistar skincare here but I am not sure about makeup, so will see if I can find their lipstick, thanks for the recommendation ;)

    What a pretty shade for the fall season! :) I am really loving matte and satin formulas at the moment and there are so many on the market right now. I'm going to the mall tomorrow & hope to give this one a try! xx
