Rouge Bunny Rouge: Quartz Eyeliner Tanzanite Essence & Papyrus Canary Eye Shadow

Rouge Bunny Rouge brought out a new shade of their devotion ink liners this year, Tanzanite Essence.

Its a medium blue with silver sparkle. There are no wishy washy grey hues here, its a true blue and though it is infused with a lot of sparkle its not over the top, more of a grown up sparkle.

The water-based formula dries quickly and has a very long-wear with no flaking. The applicator is very user friendly as the tip is not too long and is more rigid (unlike a lot of other liners) which allows for a lot more control, which is great for someone like myself who is very clumsy with liner application.

I've been looking for a beige that gives a clean, nude lid look and Long-lasting Matte Eye Shadow Refill in Papyrus Canary fits the bill.

It has a Semi-opaque finish and is a pale, creamy, slightly yellow toned beige. A matte finish seems to be the one that most brands struggle with but RBR have really got the formula spot on, with good pigment and a creamy, smooth application that does not feel or look dry.

I bought Papyrus Canary from http://en.rougebunnyrouge.com/ and the Tanzanite Essence was a gift with purchase from the same site.

  1. Thanks so much for this review, I should put Papyrus Canary in my wish list looks like a great basic color to run over the socket to make blending easier.

    1. Thanks :) They are one of the best matte formulas out there in my opinion. The liner is a lovely shade, would make a nice eyeshadow colour as well.

  3. I've been going back and forth on Papyrus Canary forever, convinced that I must have a dupe, but it looks deeper than most of the shades I have that seem similar. Maybe time to purchase...

    1. I took my time to finally pick this shade up as well as beige can often look a bit orange or too pink on me but this has a good tone to it. its too deep for me to use all over so I just keep it on the main lid, so this might well be what you are looking for :)

  5. That liner is stunning! It would probably take me half an hour to put it on but oh how nice! Papyrus Canary is the perfect shade to own, soon I hope to try a few RBR offerings. :)

    1. I'm terrible at putting liner on but find this more manageable that a lot of the ones on the market. I do hope you get to try some RBR as there is a lot to like :)

  6. I use Papyrus Canary all the time: as you said, it's the perfect nude color and finish. I expected it would be useful, but I didn't expect to love it, which I do. The Tanzanite Essence liner looks gorgeous. I'm hopeless with those types of liners, but that one looks so lovely I'm almost tempted to try it. Thanks for reviewing them.

    1. Glad to hear you are a fan of Papyrus, I can often overlook these types of shades for more colourful options but its these great workhorse basic shades that you end up reaching for day after day.
I don't get on well with liners either, don't think I will ever have a steady enough hand to do a fancy winged effect but the colour of this is just so pretty that I'll get good use out of it :)

  8. You can never go wrong with a beige eye shadow, even though it does not look the most exciting, it is the most used product for me. My favourite beige eye shadow is still Burberry's Porcelain, it sees the most action as far as all my eye shadows are concerned. I love that dark blue eye liner, it is something different from the usual black.

    1. I can see this liner really working on you :) I find a good beige is hard to find, a lot of them look way too yellow or orange or even pink on me, so I am really pleased with this one :)

  9. The liner is beautiful and the shadow looks like the perfect matte beige :)

    1. They are lovely and pair well together actually, I tried to take a picture of them on but the light is gloomy here recently that it just wasn't doing them the justice they deserve :)

  10. You never quite save me money!! I finally got two RBR liquid liner markers in blue and dark brown after your raves and I do love them. Now I have to get that Tanzanite liner!
