Suqqu EX-08 Hanamari Blend Colour eyeshadow

This palette had a very limited release, originally an exclusive to a department store in Japan and then a limited amount appeared at Selfridges, knowing how quick Suqqu limited editions sell out, I got this ordered as one of my Christmas presents even though at the time of ordering I did not know what the colours were as there was no picture on the site (I just knew that it was new and limited and just went with it).

Unlike regular Suqqu palettes, Hanamari (£45) does not have an all over matte base shade, I had thought the top left was such a shade but its more of a sparkle shade to mix with the others. The quad contains a opalescent pink sparkle, slightly shimmery sage green, shimmery candy pink and a deep warm brown that has micro glitter that does not translate once applied.

The below picture shows best the sparkle in the deep brown shade

The shadows have the normal smoothness, lightness and beautiful ease of use like all other Suqqu shadows I have tried. The pink is not easy for me to wear on its own, its quite nice to mix with the other shades and gives a somewhat mauve look as below.

Overall this is a high quality product and the shade combination is interesting and makes for good layering combinations.

  1. Hi Replica,
I saw this at Selfridges too. Looking at your post makes me miss UK so much especially the beauty halls in Harrods & Selfridges.

Imo, Suqqu eyeshadows have one of the best texture; very smooth and blends very easily. It's just the price point that's too much.

  2. Hi Meryl,
I know what you mean by the price, that said I am thinking about getting their blush brush as it seems so raved about :)I do wish they were more readily available and had less limited release, think their fall collection was only online for 2 days before it all sold out x

  3. I would love to be able to get Suqqu in the US. It's such a beautiful brand and the quality is amazing. I see it for sale sometimes on ebay and the prices are too high. I'll just have to admire them on you instead.

    1. Hi Marcia,
I really don't understand why they don't sell in the US or at least have a online site as I am sure there would be a market for it, I wonder how high the shipping is if you ordered from selfridges as I am sure that I have read that Suqqu is cheaper in the UK than in Japan and some bloggers had mail ordered the items and it still worked out cheaper?

  4. Hi Replica,
Being in the US, these very LE items are stuff I'd never get my hands on! That pink is a very pretty color to diffuse into the others. So stunning on you!

    1. Thanks :) The pink did worry me a bit at first I have to say. I never really understand why brands do such limited releases when it doesn't fulfil the actual customer wants, grr x

    1. Hello Miaka,
I was pleased how well the colours worked together, as they are not shades I would have thought to pair together :)

  6. I low the mix of colours. Especially the mint green and pink. You can do quite a few looks with this. You can't go wrong with Suqqu
