Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour

Laura Mercier has recently launched another collection for fall consisting of Caviar Stick Eye Colours, Classic Smoky Eye Palette and new shades of Lip Glacé.
I picked up the lightest shade on offer of the Caviar Stick Eye Colours, Amethyst (£20.50).
Amethyst is a rosy/mauve/brown, it does contain micro glitter but I don't find it over the top, nor gritty in feel, indeed the texture is soft and creamy.
The product has great pigmentation, allowing for a sheer or more dramatic look. It sets fast, so you need to blend quick. Once set it does not move at all but it doesn't feel drying or uncomfortable.
I've taken swatches in daylight and with flash so you can see the sparkle
I don't think this is necessarily the best colour for me but I do like the wear and application. Whilst its very good I don't think it beats By Terry Ombre Blackstar which are the best cream stick shadows in my opinion, but it definitely comes a close second.

Ingredients:

I bought this from John Lewis

  1. Thanks for this, I love the shade, am drawn to anything mauve! For some reason I tend to pass by the Laura Mercier counter in favour of Chanel but I will look out for this as it sounds perfect x

  3. This was also my choice (from pics and swatches only, as I have been too busy to even get physically close to a counter) and I think it looks lovely on you.
I agree that nothing beats the byTerry shadow sticks and I wonder whether there might be new offerings with the winter collection.
    Have a great weekend lovely!

  4. I think the color looks great on you! I am surprised that Amethyst is the lightest shade, as I'd have thought it at least medium to dark. I also have my eye on Khaki, and I read someone is blending them together, but I forgot who that was!

  5. It's really beautiful on you and reminds me of the By Terry Misty Rock! I have my eye on a couple of the LM shades.... Or should I just get more of the By Terry??? xx

  6. Hi Lipstick Luvvie,
The Laura Mercier counter in opposite the Chanel so I have no escape :) I'm not so good with the walking pass counter concept x

    Hi Vintage Makeup,
Thanks :) I liked the look of their new palette as well but managed to hold off ;)

    Hi Nina,
    Thanks ;)
That would be great if there were new shades coming out from By Terry, I've not heard a thing about their fall collection, wish the brand got more coverage. x

    Hi Zuzu's Petals,
Thanks! Its not a light shade in itself just compared to the other ones on offer if you get what I mean, Khaki was the other one I liked so thats interesting about blending them togther :)

    Hi Jeanie
Thank you :) Although LM is cheaper, I do think By Terry has the better formula, I'd only get the LM if there was a shade you wanted that wasn't in the By Terry line up xx

  7. Hey Replica! These are gorgeous, I've had my eye on the By Terry stick shadows for sometime now but have never taken the plunge.. This MAethyst shade reminds me of the only Urban Decay Shadow pencil I have called Rehab: our typical taupe, have you tried the UD shadow pencils?

  8. I am definitely interested in checking these out, especially if these last as long as touted.

  9. Hi Lakshmi,
I've not tried the UD ones, I'll bet they are cheaper so I'll make a note of that shade ;) x

    Hi luv2smilexo,
It wears well even without a base, mid you I don't have oily eyelids, but I have seen other good reviews on the long wear of these :)

  10. Thank you for mentioning the comparison to the By Terry. I like the LM sticks very much from swatching but have admired the By Terry too. I do rather like stick creams for staying power. Decisions, decisions.....
    ;) xx

  11. PS. Can you remember which liner and mascara you were wearing here? Both look lovely.

  12. Hi Jane,
Thanks, I think the liner was just the dark brown from that Estee Lauder palette I picked up recently and the mascara was a sample size of the YSL faux cils.
I do really want to get some more of the by Terry, I keep hoping that SpaceNK will do one of those 20% events like last year so that I can go on a By Terry/Chantecaille/NARS spreeeeeeeee ;) x
