Tom Ford Love Lust Cheek Colour

My first review for the Tom ford blushers was somewhat mixed and my second blush I bought at the same time, Love Lust, has not changed my opinion of these.

They are quite smooth, and have a light feel but again I do not think Love Lust has the smoothest or creamiest blush texture I have come across. I also find this particular shade does not go on as smooth looking. It does have a high level of pigment and a long lasting finish.

Love Lust (£45) is a peach/coral with golden shimmer. The colour is quite adaptable in terms of whether you want a sheer or intense finish.

Swatched below with Tom Ford Frantic Love

Swatched below L-R: Chantecaille Fun, Tom Ford Love Lust, Burberry Tangerine, Rouge Bunny Rouge Starina

I don't know whether its my dry skin type that is making me miss the extra merits of these or if its because of the brands I am comparing these to, but for me, whilst I do think these are nice good quality blushes, that give the skin a nice glow, I can't understand the hype for these.

I bought this from harveynichols.com

  1. Is it wrong that I love it when you tell me I don't need to lust after something?! I still only own a Tom Ford lipstick and mixed reports about the eyeshadows and blushers lean me towards thinking I'm probably not missing out. Having said that, I do find the blusher packaging aesthetically pleasing. Is it quite weighty? xx

    1. ;) its not wrong, money saved is always good. I am not really feeling the TF range so far, I've ordered one of those new shine lipsticks so will see how that goes. From what I have read I wouldn't bother with the older shadow quads, the newer formula from the fall collection sounds a lot better so I think its worth us trying one of those if they bring more out.
Its not that heavy really, easily more so than the likes of RBR but not as heavy as a Burberry and nothing like a By Terry xx

  2. OMG. Burberryt Tangerine. I'm looking for a new peachy blush since my old smells weirdly off. There's so much of it left though, it makes me so sad!

    2. It's a Tarte Cheek Stain -- it smells like VERY old lipstick. I showed it to my roommate and she nearly choked. Probably time to stop using that =P

    1. It does brighten up the face nicely, I do think TF is overpriced though, somewhat off putting :)

  4. Sad to hear that this doesn't feel as good what what you've expected. So far my experience with Tom Ford blushes are great but maybe some color don't work as well as the others :)

    1. I do feel like the majority seem to really love these so I did have high expectations, still I know I'll get use out of the colours :)

  5. I really like the look of this shade, I love these coral type colours and this is very pretty. I still love the one TF Blush I have but I don't have any of the other brands to compare with.

    1. I think this shade would work really well on you. Still at least I have satisfied my TF blush ponderings now :)

  6. As much as I'd love a TF blush I don't know if it's special enough to spend the money on. i've already spent too much on the brand. I do like my lipsticks a lot luckily and I bought a great gloss from them recently.

    1. I don't think they fsll into the special category, a shame given the price ;) I have wondered about trying their lip gloss so maybe that will be next on my list :)

  7. Hey Replica, I do like their blushes but sometimes I do think about whether they are really worth the price tag then I decide not to think so much and just splurge which is kinda bad.

  8. The Chantecaille and RBR blushes look so pretty, I want to try them! Even though I like TF Love Lust, but I agree it is over-rated for the price.

    1. Hi Rola,
The RBR is really lovely, I was surprised I could wear something so warm toned :)

  9. I was filling up my shopping cart online and have thinking about TF blushes, of course...but your review stopped me in my tracks when you described the texture. Doesn't sound like it's for me! Trying not to go crazy with the Summer but I'm pretty sure I'm only getting the lip laquer and maybe the Fire Lust illuminator...

    1. Yes, they are nice but I am not wowed by them. The summer is not out here yet, but so far I am thinking I want the two cream shadows, lip gloss and liquid highlighter, I know I'll have to get it as soon as its out as the brand seem to sell out real quick, will look forward to seeing what you pick up :)
