MAC Opulash and L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes

If you’re a regular reader of my blog you’ll know I have been trying to find “The” mascara, instead of finding something amazing my posts are becoming a what to avoid…
After my DiorShow Extase fail I bought MAC Opulash and L’oreal Volume Million Lashes.

L’oreal Volume Million Lashes seems to be a UK exclusive for now (I’m not sure why the UK market would need this over other countries). It has a wiper within the tube that aims to remove excess mascara so you get no overload or clumps. It’s meant to separate lashes for a fanned-out lash effect and give maxed up volume. Are you seeing it?
My thoughts, it does give some length, it doesn’t really curl, it does clump if you apply two or more layers and makes my lashes look messy.
Moving onto MAC's new Opulash, the brush head is very big, in fact I think it difficult to use because of this. It gives me length and lift and the overall effect is quite nice however this is far from the dramatic “biggest, baddest, bouffant lashes EVER” as claimed.
I would have said this would be a good everyday mascara but the longer I have had it the dryer the formula has become, its at the point now where it applies flaky, so for me I only got 3 weeks good use from it.
So onward we go, I’ve since bought the new Guerlain one which I’ll be reviewing shortly…..

  1. Oh dear...sorry to hear about the poor performance of these two. I agree, nothing spectacular there :-(
I take it you have tried and -for some reason- rejected YSL Effet Faux Cils? It worked brilliantly for me, although the Armani remains my HG.
    Have a great week end!
    Nina x

PS You should know that I hold you entirely responsible for my latest splurge on Zuneta... Your lovely lipgloss made me hungry for more and I purchased their Illume cream duo blusher and bronzer (in Sunset). Love it!!! So there, I hope you're happy with what you've made me go and do :-)))

  2. Must agree, neither look great :( Cheers for the reviews! :)

  3. Hi Nina,
I do really like that YSL one but after a few weeks it seems to go really clumpy on me and its a bit expensive to have to buy a new one every month.
Yes, I am happy I have made you spend your money..evil laugh... ;) If it makes you feel any better I think I am going to be broke this month what with Edward Bess and Burberry launching here, I'm pretty sure its on the same day as well ! (12th) x

    Hello Lillian,
Lets hope I can find a good one soon as this quest is working out expensive :)
