Closer look at Illamasqua nail varnishes

I've mentioned before that I really like Illamasqua nail varnishes, what you see in the bottle is what you get on your nails, they don't chip as much as other polishes do on me ( I'm looking at you Chanel !) and they dry quite fast.I think the only negative is that they contain formaldehyde.

Boosh is a deep black, Baptist is a rich shimmery true purple,Loella is a bubblegum pink with a bit of fuchsia/lavender shimmer, Obtuse is a shimmery, almost metallic goldy bronze nude, Lament is a hot coral.

I've taken swatches in natural light and with a flash to hopefully capture the colour.

Closer look at most recent Rouge Bunny Rouge order.

Here are the swatches of my most recent RBR order. The eyeshadows are 'Angelic Cockatiels' (shimmery warm peachy/honey nude),'Periwinkle Cardinal' (shimmery moss green, with silver and gold tones) 'A Major - fis Minor' (very sheer gold and a muted cool toned brown).

Lipsticks in 'Know What Lies Are For' (neutral nude/beige with a touch of brown). I don't tend to go for this type of colour as they usually make me look like I have had all the life sucked out of me, but this shade is really wearable. 'Tongue Tickles', a sheer shimmery neutral pink; the shimmer in this is silver (this is the sheer formula and feels a bit more balm like).

Lastly, liquid highlighter in 'Sea Of Showers', which is a beautiful warm champagne glow and my swatch does not do it justice. This is similar to Armani fluid sheer #2, but more pigmented and without the noticeable micro glitter. Armani fluid sheers were my favourite liquid highlighter, but having worn the RBR almost every day since I got it, I can say that I do think it's better than my Armani and although the price (£45) is more that what I would normally pay I will buy more of these.

Once again I really like all these products and RBR seems to be a real winner for me. Their products can be bought from Zuneta.com

Illamasqua eyeshadow descriptions Part 2

This is the second part of my Illamasqua eyeshadow descriptions/review. As I mentioned in Part 1, although Illamasqua make the best range of Matte shades in my opinion, there are a few shades that I have found a bit difficult to work with so I have marked them down here.

Deity-neutral cream base shade (my staple all over base)
Succumb-sheer peach
Vanian-sheer shimmery white (the texture is a bit hard, yet you can pick up colour better than you can from Gasp)
Spectre-opaque subtle pinked grey
Gasp-sheer shimmery beige highlighter (hard texture so not good colour payoff)
Slink -shimmery champagne gold
Feel -neutral dulled beige/brown
Dizzy-dirty warmed pink (this does not apply uniformly, seems patchy)
Feint- medium warm pinky brown with a rosey undertone (same texture as Dizzy)
Truth- medium slightly plummy brown
Forgiveness-warm rich rosey plum brown

Once again I have pictures in past posts of the shadows before I used them and I have done some new swatches below, this time a bit heavier.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Eyeshadow review and swatches

Alabaster starling, is a Metallic cool white with a slight silver tone, at first I thought this would be too OTT for everyday wear but have found I’m using it a lot as an inner eye highlight or placed in the middle of the lid

Bejewelled Skylark- had I seen this in person I would not have bought it as in the pan it looks very warm with a red undertone, the shade I would normally avoid on my cool toned PPP complexion, but applied it’s a rich deep chocolate-brown, with a iridescent copper tone running through it, I love this as a crease shade or as a liner

Delicate Hummingbird, is a iridescent cool toned medium plum.

Gracious Arasari is a nude beige with a slight pink tone, unlike my other 4 shadows I noticed that when I swatched it with my finger it did not feel as smooth, however I haven’t noticed any difference when applying it to my eye area. I really like this as a lid colour for a no fuss look.

Solstice Halcyon is a glowy neutral toned medium brown/taupe with a hint of mauve, great on the lid or in the crease.

I really like all of these shades and really rate what I have tried so far from RBR. The eyeshadows are smooth on, pigmented and last well.

RBR is available from Zuneta.com. If you have any queries about their stuff you can always contact Zuenta and they respond really quickly and are very helpful .
Need more encouragement to fall for RBR ? There are some great reviews and pictures of RBR on http://londonmakeupgirl.blogspot.com/ and http://mizzworthy.blogspot.com/

Illamasqua bits and bobs

Here are pictures of a few more Illamasqua items I picked up. I got two of the medium pencils as I think it was Pixiwoo who raved about them on youtube, Gossmakeupartist recommended Hex for the lower lash line to brighten the area(in place of your typical white which is more commonly used) so easily influenced that I am I ordered Hex and Odd.
Hex is a very slightly warm beige and does indeed brighten and open up the eye area when used on the lower waterline, however as I am very pale I do think this colour would look more natural on those slightly darker than me.I can also use this colour as a lip liner if I am doing a nude lip look. Odd is a cool toned medium almost forest green, unfortunately its texture is nothing like Hex and whilst it lasts very well it does not apply smoothly which I think you can see in the swatch I have done, I think I will order another of the ones more used for the eye area to see if the texture of these are indeed different to the ones more aimed at both/just lips like Hex and will report back as Hex applies so smoothly, pigmentated, no tugging and lasts really well so I'm hoping my odd pencil was just a dud.
I also got a cream blusher in Lies, this is a highlighter shade IMO, and applies as a cool pink shimmery sheen, I use it as I use my Armani fluid sheer 7. Lies looks great if you apply it on the cheeks first and then layer your normal blush over it, gives a really radiant flush to the skin which lasts right through the day which surprised me as texture wise it has a lot of slip to it. I will also say that ingredients wise these seem OK for those acne prone, I'm extremely acne prone so cream blushers are usually a problem for me so I will definitely pick up another shade.

Lastly I just posted a swatch of my furore pigment as I had previously only posted a pic of the product which isn't very helpful (its a very shimmery peach champagne) I have a lot less fallout with this compared to MAC pigments and this lasts better as well.

Illamasqua glosses

Your probably seeing a trend here :) Yes, Illamasqua is fast becoming my favourite brand. When they called them intense glosses they weren't kidding, these are extreme and they do apply exactly as swatched.Follow is a glacé cherry red,Temper is a bright tomato red, both these shades are bordering on neon and I do wear them applied very lightly as I'm not quite brave enough yet for their full on effect ! Move is a very wearable mauve. Soul and Rouse are from their sheer gloss line, soul is a shimmery bordering on frosty peach champagne and Rouse is a sheer baby pink.

Illamasqua Lipsticks

I currently have four Illamasqua lipsticks. They are the most pigmented lipsticks I have ever tried and last well. Nubile is the only one with shimmer and its almost a frosty sheer silvered pink on me. The other colours I have are very opaque.

Here are some swatches, I usually go for more subtle lipcolours so am wearing these with a gloss at the moment. Fable is a pure pink, wanton purple pink and climax dusty rose.Swatches l-r Nubile, Fable,Wanton, Climax

Fresh Sugar Lip gloss

These retail for £16.50 in the UK. I really like the formula of these, moisturising almost balm like. If you don't like the usual sticky glosses (Stila, Chanel, Mac etc) you will love these and I think they will be great for winter months. Surprising long lasting as well with the added bonus of the lemon sugar scent. Currently you can only get Fresh in the UK via their London Marylebone High Street, you can mail order their stuff, postage is quite high but they are really friendly and will usually put some samples in which is always a good thing !

Illamasqua lip swatches

I usually go for pinky brown lip colours, and tend to avoid anything too out there, bright. I had to try some Illamasqua lipsticks and figured that Climax and Wanton looked like the easiest to wear shades, climax is a cool/neutral dusty rose and wanton is more of a purple pink, both are matte. I have to say I'm not too sure about these shades on me (I'm a cool toned and very pale) as they are rather bright compared to what I'm used too, so for now I'm paring them with a bit of gloss just to tone them down a bit but I have to say pigmentation is amazing and they really last well....now if I could just find a shade that suits me.... :)
