Chantecaille Holiday 2015 The Himalayan Collection: Cheek Gelée Hydrating Gel-Cream Blush

As pretty as the look is for the Tibet inspired Himalayan Collection, I wasn't really feeling the products when I checked them out instore; the lipsticks were a bit too bold for my liking and the eyeshadow duo just too shimmery.
Not one to be deterred I picked up the Cheek Gelée Hydrating Gel-Cream Blush.


The shade is called Happy and its a soft illuminating petal pink, its quite translucent so skin does show through.

The formula is a joy, it has a somewhat creamy/gel feel to it, its not heavy and it spreads over the skin and blends in impeccably. It feel moisturising and there is no sticky or greasy feel. Chantecaille state it has the lasting power of a stain and I agree with this.

There is everything to love here but I think the success of this is going to depend on the state of you skin and this is why this does not reach its full potential on me.
My skin has a lot of discolouration/acne scarring, and whilst this looks quite nice on me when I tried it on my mother (who has much clearer skin) it performed much better. My skin takes away some of the fresh pink hue and luminosity of this product, whereas on my mother the beautiful pigment and radiant glow are evident.
I think this is a great product, but you'll not get the best out of this if you have bad skin like me.

Becca Pearl Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured, Rouge Bunny Rouge Swell Bliss XXX Lip Plumps, Chantecaille Le Chrome Luxe Eye Duo Monte Carlo

I often get caught up with posting about seasonal/new product releases but there are some things I have been really enjoying lately that I wanted to share with you.

Heading towards the winter season, my skin can often look dull, which is where highlighters come into their own. Though the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured came out earlier this year, we only recently got the lightest shade, Pearl, here in the UK.

I really like the formula, its lightweight and spreads and blends extremely well, under or on top of makeup. Its not so emollient that there is any greasy feel and it sets nicely with no tackiness. Pearl is a high sheen white, although it swatches quite intense it does not look stark on the skin. The wear time is fantastic, around 10 hours.

I am not fan of lip plumping products as I tend to find them irritating, so when I was sent some of the Rouge Bunny Rouge Swell Bliss XXX Lip Plumps I did not have high hopes, but these have been quite a surprise.

I have the older packaging but the newer incarnation looks a bit more sleek. The glosses are super shiny and whilst there is a minty taste and a bit of tingling at first, these are not irritating in the least. The result is a really high gloss/shine finish which makes the area look more plumped. Though I do find these tacky in feel, this probably does provide the very long wear time.

Chantecaille Le Chrome Luxe Eye Duo in Monte Carlo was part of the Pre-Fall collection, but seems to still be readily available. I really like the formula of the Le Chrome Luxe Eye Duos, its as smooth as you like, lightweight and applies and blends like a dream, furthermore pigment is high and the wear is long.



Monte Carlo pairs a shimmery apricot and bronze, a classic combination, perhaps a bit too warm for me complexion but it was just too lush for me to pass up.

Chantecaille Protect The Wolves Fall 2015: Galactic Lip Shine Moonlight & Luster Glide Silk Infused Eye Liner Black Forest

I've fallen heavily for the Protect the Wolves Fall collection from Chantecaille, my review of the Protect the Wolves Eye Shade Trio is here and Ella Cheek Shade & Patience Lip Chic is here.

The Luster Glide Silk Infused Eye Liner in Black Forest is a densely pigmented stunning blackened green.



Its a very soft liner so not necessarily the best if you like a crisp line, but it just glides on so smoothly, with such rich pigment and lasts really well (even on the waterline).

The Galactic Lip Shines have been a new find for me, I initially dismissed them thinking they were just another lip gloss but in actuality they are more of a conditioning lip treatment that has the moisturising properties of a balm and the shine of a gloss.


The formula feels comfortable on and improves the lip condition, leaving the area soft. The shade Moonlight is a clear base with a cool toned pink iridescent.

I couldn't capture the pretty iridescence but thought the below photo might help give you an idea of the colour, this is one application and I do not have pigmented lips.

I feel that this is such a well coordinated collection of flattering smokey hues for the eyes paired with soft neutrals for the lips/cheeks. With a high quality formulation throughout, I'm pleased with every item I bought.

Chantecaille Fall 2015: Protect the Wolves Eye Shade Trio

Its not often I wear darker eyeshadows, unless its something a bit special, the Protect the Wolves Eye Shade Trio (£65) certainly fits the bill.


The beautifully designed limited edition refillable palette contains three wolves head embossed shades to create a smokey green eye look.
Midnight is a deep black, Timber Wolf is a complex pewter with a golden sheen and Evergreen is a cool, blackened emerald.




The finish falls more into the satin territory, pigment is really good, they feel smooth (though Midnight feels slightly dryer to the touch) and blend/layer effortlessly. I'm sure I've mentioned it before but I find Chantecaille shadows very good if your lids are dry or lined.


I'm really pleased with this palette, its made me feel able to wear darker shades again without looking drained, or overly made up. The cool toned green edge is a welcome change from the normal grey or blue smokey eye and the formula is easy to apply and the finish flattering, now what more could you ask for :)

Chantecaille Fall 2015 Protect the Wolves: Ella Cheek Shade & Patience Lip Chic

This year's Fall launch from Chantecaille is inspired by wolves and aims to raise awareness of protecting wild wolves. 5% of proceeds from each product is donated to the Northwest Conservation Group in recognition and support of their efforts to protect wolves.

The collection focuses on green earth tones on the eyes with a soft nude lip and cheek.
The Ella cheek shade (£33) is embossed with the head of a wolf, its very pretty, though I have to mention that there have been several photos floating around of an over spray on this but mine did not have one. Its not a bother to me but I know for those collectors out there this might be a let down.


Ella is a gentle warm nude petal pink with a satin finish. The texture is lightweight and has a silky feel. Pigment, though buildable, is initially low. I wasn't impressed with last years Fall limited edition blusher application, so was pleased that this performed much better, blending into the skin seamlessly.

The Lip Chic is called Patience (£30) and is a nude pink with a glossy finish. This is a beautiful nude lip, which nearly ventures into being too pale for me but it has just the right amount of pink to make it a nude but not a nude gone too far.

The balm like formula feels comfortable and moisturising, and it applies extremely smooth, a blessing for nude colours which can often highlight dryness and lines. I generally find Lip Chics have quite a short wear time but this was good, giving me around 4 hours.
