Ambre Botanicals Luxurious Oils Blend Face Serum & Gentle Face Soap

Though I am not normally a fan of face oils I have been really impressed with the Luxurious Oils Blend Face Serum (£25) from the independently owned raw natural skin and body care brand, Ambre Botanicals.

Its contains ingredients such as Marula (rich in anti-oxidants, to help heal skin tissue and make the skin smooth and resilient), Meadowfoam oil (which is an extremely emollient plant oil), Rosehip (to regenerate/heal the skin) and Evening Primrose (to help repair and maintain skin tissue).

Its super concentrated as I know to expect from Ambre Botanicals. It has a fuss free formulation which only contains ingredients to benefit the skin rather than fillers. I don't feel like it leaves my skin oily/greasy, nor does it cause my sensitive skin any problems. I use it at night if my skin is feeling dry, mixed in with my day moisturiser and also on the body. It provides long lasting hydration and makes the skin feel nourished.

Ingredients : Jojoba Oil (Simmondsia Chinensis), Meadow Foam Oil (Limnanthes Alba), Marula Oil (Sclerocarya Birrea), Rosehip Oil (Rosa Rubiginosa), Evening Primrose Oil (Oenothera Fiennis), Avocado Oil (Persea Americana), Non-GMO Natural Vitamin E (D-alpha Tocopherol), Natural Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate), Rosemary Antioxidant (Rosmarinus Officinalis). Unscented.

I find face soaps irritating and ineffective for cleansing/make up removal, so my expectations were low, however I was pleasantly surprised by the gentle face soap (£10) . The cold process soap is made from ingredients such as; Avocado butter (a rich source of essential vitamins), Shea butter (moisturising and conditioning ) and Coconut/Palm Kernel oils (to cleanse the skin).
This removes makeup extremely well, several time I would try using a cleanser/toner afterwards to find any residue left, but there was none. It  leaves no greasy feel/coating on the skin and washes away well.
One thing I would say though is that I wasn't sure if you could use this on the eyes, I did and would advise you don't, as it stings.
I don't use this everyday as it doesn't provide my dry skin with enough moisture but I make sure to use it at least once a week as it really does provide that squeaky clean feel.

Ambre Botanicals products contain no chemical ingredients or preservatives, artificial colour or fragrance, I've bought quite a lot from the brand now and have no complaints.
You can view and buy their products from ambrebotanicals.com

I bought the serum from Etsy.com and the soap was sent to me for free.

Ambre Botanicals: Herbal bath oil, Costa Del Azahar Soap, Cupuacu & Nut oils body butter

I've been continuing to use and enjoy Ambre Botanicals. They are an independently owned raw natural skin and body care brand; the products contain no chemical ingredients, preservatives, artificial colour or fragrance.

The Rosemary, Thyme and mint herbal bath oil 150ml (£18) is certainly eye-catching with its sprig of rosemary.

Just a few drops in the bath and the aroma is relaxing and calming, good for when you are feeling a bit bedraggled and worn out. My skin is left feeling pleasantly soft but not oily.

The Costa Del Azahar warming & moisturising soap 100g (£5.95) is inspired by the endless orange plantations in the Spanish Costa del Azahar.

It contains safflower petals, orange, clove and ginger. I only detect a slight scent. It lathers quite well and my hands are left feeling clean and soft. I wouldn't say its drying but I don't find it that moisturising, though to be fair I can't say I find the majority of bar soaps moisturising.

The Cupuacu & Nut oils rich moisturising body butter 120ml (£25) is lush, its a blend of 100% raw cold-pressed plant oils and butters.

It feels really rich so you only need a bit, this is a great all round cream for the family as I find it very good on sensitive and sore skin to help alleviate dryness/irritation.Its able to maintain moisture levels throughout the day without leaving a greasy layer on the skin.

Ingredients Cupuacu Butter (Theobroma Grandiflorum), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), Avocado Oil (Persea Americana), Apricot Kernel Oil (Prunus Armeniaca), Sweet Almond Oil (Prunus Amygdalus), Sunflower Oil (Helianthus Annuus), Safflower Oil (Carthamus Tinctorius ), Sesame Oil (Sesamum Indicum), Hazelnut Oil (Corylus Avellana). Non-GMO Natural Vitamin E (D-alpha Tocopherol), Rosemary Antioxidant (Rosmarinus Officinalis). Pure essential oils of: Bergamot (Citrus Bergamia), Mandarin (Citrus Racemosa), Lemon (Citrus Limonium), Rosewood (Aniba Rosaeodora), Ylang-ylang (Cananga Odorata). Components naturally occurring in essential oils: Citral, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate.

I bought these from Etsy.com, you can also buy them from ambrebotanicals.com

AMBRE Botanicals Pumpkin Seed and Kokum Face Cream & Rhassoul Clay Face Mask

I've jumped head first into Ambre Botanicals and as yet have not been disappointed. The independently owned raw skin and body care brand has a concise range that does not contain any water, chemical ingredients, preservatives, artificial colour or fragrance.

PUMPKIN SEED & KOKUM WITH FRUIT NUT OILS FACE CREAM (£23 for 30ml) Slightly yellow in colour, this has a rich texture and is highly concentrated so you only need a bit. The balm melts onto the skin without leaving a greasy residue. It contains pure plant oils and butters, rich in vitamins such as A,E & C, essential fatty acids and antioxidants.

I use this at night and for me it soothes and keeps my skin hydrated and feeling smooth. I really feel like this restores balance, my skin is very prone to breaks outs and irritation from stress and poor diet so I find this balm works to return it to its normal state.

Ingredients: Pumpkin Seed Butter (Cucurbita Maxima), Kokum Butter (Garcinia Indica), Pumpkin Seed Oil (Cucurbita Maxima), Starflower (Borage) Oil (Borago Officinalis), Passion Fruit Oil (Passiflora Incarnata ), Sea Buckthorn Oil (Hippophae Rhamnoides), Rice Bran Oil (Oryza Sativa), Avocado Virgin Oil (Persea Americana), Hazelnut Oil (Corylus Avellana). Non-GMO Natural Vitamin E (D-alpha Tocopherol), Rosemary Antioxidant (Rosmarinus Officinalis). Natural Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate). Unscented.

RHASSOUL CLAY FACE MASK (£8.50 for 15g) The clay mask comes as a fine loose powder that you need to mix with water to create a thin paste. I found it difficult to get the correct ratio of water to begin with so I would advise using less water than you think. You apply it to the face (avoiding the eye area) and rinse off with warm water after 7-10 minutes.

This really smooths the skin and absorbs all the gunk out of pores and if you have any spots brewing I found this brought them to the surface and allowed for a much faster heal time.

However, proceed with caution as this is not for the faint hearted; I loved the effects so much that instead of using it once a week (for sensitive skin I always think once a week is the right amount of time for masks/scrubs) I used it again just 2 days after one treatment and it did really dry my skin out for about 4 days. So if you do have dry/sensitive skin like me just use once a week as this mask means business.

I bought the face cream from Etsy.com and the mask was a gift with purchase (this promotion is still running on ambrebotanicals.com with your first purchase and they deliver world wide)

Ambre Botanicals: Herbal body scrub & Mango and Carrot Seed Extra Rich Hand Cream

AMBRE Botanicals is a relatively new skin and body care brand. For me they are the epitome of what a natural brand should be. The products are made by hand in small batches, they use only plant-derived ingredients in their pure, raw state. The formulations do not contain any water nor chemical ingredients, preservatives, artificial colour or fragrance, and they use a special cold process ( ingredients are not heated above 30°C ) to retain their natural, potent, nutrients.

The Mango and Carrot Seed Extra Rich Hand Cream (£17) is dense with a balm like texture. Yellow in colour it has a slightly herbal scent. As its so concentrated (like all their products) I only need to use a tiny bit . It melts on application and applies and sinks in well without leaving a greasy feel. It doesn't irritate my skin at all and is very effective in alleviating any dryness or rough bits and leaves hands feeling smooth and comfortable.

Ingredients: Mango Butter (Mangifera Indica), Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii), Carrot Seed Oil (Daucus Carota Linn), Sunflower Oil (Helianthus Annuus). Non-GMO Natural Vitamin E (D-alpha Tocopherol), Rosemary Antioxidant (Rosmarinus Officinalis). Pure essential oils of: Lavender (Lavandula Angustifolia), Lemon (Citrus Limonum), Clary Sage (Salvia Sclarea ). Components naturally occurring in essential oils: Citral, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol, Benzyl Benzoate.

The Herbal body scrub (£20) contains sugar cane to remove dead skin cells and apricot kernel and safflower oils to moisturise the skin. There is a slight coating left on the skin (not greasy like some scrubs) which leaves my dry skin comfortable.

Its a very effective scrub that is not too harsh and does not irritate my very sensitive skin. Perhaps my favourite aspect of this is the aroma. Its eucalyptus, basil and clary sage. It really is uplifting and makes me feel more awake and clear headed, if they could bottle this aroma I'd douse myself in it for the 14:00 work slump. Like the majority of scrubs it is a tad messy to use, I use a spoon to mix the oil and solid elements together and just put a bit on and work it over the body.

Ingredients:Safflower Oil (Carthamus Tinctorius), Coconut Oil (Cocos Nucifera), Vegetable Wax, Cane sugar, Glycerine. Botanicals: Lemongrass, Eucalyptus, Olive, Spinach, Iris root, Rosehip. Non-GMO Natural Vitamin E (D-alpha Tocopherol), Rosemary Antioxidant (Rosmarinus Officinalis). Pure essential oils of: Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus Radiata), Basil (Ocimum Basilicum), Clary Sage (Salvia Sclarea). Components naturally occurring in essential oils: Eugenol, Limonene, Linalool, Geraniol.

I'm thoroughly impressed with this brand and have ordered quite a lot more which I'll review soon; it suits my highly sensitive skin, I really like how pared down and raw the ingredients and processes are and there is also something satisfying buying from an independent brand.

My husband has an Etsy account which is where I bought these from (etsy.com). You can also buy AMBRE from beingcontent.com and ambrebotanicals.com
