Becca Pearl Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured, Rouge Bunny Rouge Swell Bliss XXX Lip Plumps, Chantecaille Le Chrome Luxe Eye Duo Monte Carlo

I often get caught up with posting about seasonal/new product releases but there are some things I have been really enjoying lately that I wanted to share with you.

Heading towards the winter season, my skin can often look dull, which is where highlighters come into their own. Though the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured came out earlier this year, we only recently got the lightest shade, Pearl, here in the UK.

I really like the formula, its lightweight and spreads and blends extremely well, under or on top of makeup. Its not so emollient that there is any greasy feel and it sets nicely with no tackiness. Pearl is a high sheen white, although it swatches quite intense it does not look stark on the skin. The wear time is fantastic, around 10 hours.

Shown below Pearl and Moonlight

Ingredients:

I am not fan of lip plumping products as I tend to find them irritating, so when I was sent some of the Rouge Bunny Rouge Swell Bliss XXX Lip Plumps I did not have high hopes, but these have been quite a surprise.
Heather Royal Jelly (Pinky Beige with micro-shimmer)

Acacia Royal Jelly (Milky Baby Pink)

Clover Royal Jelly (Pinky Rose with silver micro-shimmer)

I have the older packaging but the newer incarnation looks a bit more sleek. The glosses are super shiny and whilst there is a minty taste and a bit of tingling at first, these are not irritating in the least. The result is a really high gloss/shine finish which makes the area look more plumped. Though I do find these tacky in feel, this probably does provide the very long wear time.

L-R: Heather Royal Jelly, Acacia Royal Jelly, Clover Royal Jelly.

Ingredients:

Chantecaille Le Chrome Luxe Eye Duo in Monte Carlo was part of the Pre-Fall collection, but seems to still be readily available. I really like the formula of the Le Chrome Luxe Eye Duos, its as smooth as you like, lightweight and applies and blends like a dream, furthermore pigment is high and the wear is long.

Monte Carlo pairs a shimmery apricot and bronze, a classic combination, perhaps a bit too warm for me complexion but it was just too lush for me to pass up.

So there we have it, 3 great products for eyes, lips and cheeks, sorted.

I bought the Chantecaille and Becca from Space NK, the RBR Lip Plumps were sent to me for free.

The New Rouge Bunny Rouge Silk Aether Long-lasting Duo Cream Eye Shadow

What's better than having one of RBR bestselling cream eye shadow shades, well two of course, and so we have the new Silk Aether Long-lasting Duo Cream Eye Shadow.

The duo is called Gossamer Wing and it contains Atlas Swallowtail (nude taupe) and Brocade Skipper (beige/champagne). The finish is semi-matte, yet slightly luminous so that they don't look flat.
Swatched below then blended,

These are my two favourite shades from the cream line up, ones I've re-bought a few times and recently ran out of so it was rather fortuitous when RBR sent me this duo to try.

The shadows work a a primer or lid colour, providing a sheer wash of colour or built up to be more opaque.
Shown below applied sheerly with no primer and this is after about 7 hours wear,

The duo has doe foot applicators for easy application. It has a creamy yet lightweight texture that applies smoothly and evenly. I do not find these drying and love that they do not go on patchy and the edges blend out seamlessly.

The wear time is really good, I can get around 7 hours (with no primer) with just minimal fade and no creasing.
There's everything to like about this product, the colours look very natural and are great for that nude yet defined looked. They apply effortlessly and have a lasting wear that you can trust and the actual design is great for travelling. I think whats also worth noting is that unlike a lot of  cream shadows on the market these are especially forgiving on older lids where lines/folds are an issue.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Imperceptible Powder Evanescence plus a discount code for you

Rouge Bunny Rouge have brought out a new pressed powder called Imperceptible Powder Evanescence, its meant to be suitable for all skin types (including dry) and provide a "bare skin" finish. The formula is enriched with rose hip oil and contains an anti-wrinkle complex called D’Orientine S.

Though I need to wear powder daily as I get a lot of shine breakthrough, me and powder do not get along, however as RBR is a brand I have a very good success rate with I was keen to give this a try.

RBR very kindly sent me the powder, I selected the lightest shade Aura (there are four shades available). Aura suits my pale complexion well, there is a slight yellow tone to this that helps counteract some of my redness.

The powder has a smooth, silky texture and feels light weight. It does not blot out all shine, like something more heavy duty like MAC blot, but it prevents any more shine coming through. The powder really does lock everything in place, I notice very little change after a days wear (I tend to wear makeup from 6:00AM till 18:30PM).
Swathed below L-R: Trish McEvoy Translucent Finishing Powder, RBR Aura, Chanel Les Beiges No.10

The powder blends very nicely on the skin, not accentuating dryness nor fine lines and provides medium coverage with a natural you skin but better finish.
Shown below with bare skin and then just one light dusting of the powder,

Ingredients below (the powder is free from parabens, silicones and oils). This powder is heavily scented, kind of a sweet almond smell, fragrance tends to make my skin itchy straight away but I've had no problem with this but I would have preferred fragrance to have been excluded.

For me this is a solid performer as I have not encountered any of the problems I normally get with powders (such as feeling drying, clinging onto dry patches, not preventing shine, breaking me out and not lasting).
I really like that this does not feel mask like and provides a medium coverage that minimises excess shine without obliterating everything, so that your skin still looks like skin but just on a good day.

Rouge Bunny Rouge: Quartz Eyeliner Tanzanite Essence & Papyrus Canary Eye Shadow

Rouge Bunny Rouge brought out a new shade of their devotion ink liners this year, Tanzanite Essence.

Its a medium blue with silver sparkle. There are no wishy washy grey hues here, its a true blue and though it is infused with a lot of sparkle its not over the top, more of a grown up sparkle.

The water-based formula dries quickly and has a very long-wear with no flaking. The applicator is very user friendly as the tip is not too long and is more rigid (unlike a lot of other liners) which allows for a lot more control, which is great for someone like myself who is very clumsy with liner application.

I've been looking for a beige that gives a clean, nude lid look and Long-lasting Matte Eye Shadow Refill in Papyrus Canary fits the bill.

It has a Semi-opaque finish and is a pale, creamy, slightly yellow toned beige. A matte finish seems to be the one that most brands struggle with but RBR have really got the formula spot on, with good pigment and a creamy, smooth application that does not feel or look dry.

I bought Papyrus Canary from http://en.rougebunnyrouge.com/ and the Tanzanite Essence was a gift with purchase from the same site.

Rouge Bunny Rouge: Rain Dove & Rufous-Tailed Weaver Long Lasting Eye Shadow

I was so pleased when there was mention of new eye shades in one of my favourite eye-shadow formula's ever.

Rain Dove is a light golden beige.
Rufous-Tailed Weaver is a medium brown with a bronze/gold sheen.

I find it hard to describe the shades as they both have the wonderful complexity of differing tones that we are use to from RBR. Both have a natural warmth and really brighten the eye area with a ever so flattering satin finish with gentle glimmer that catches the light.
Both have a delightfully smooth, buttery soft texture with a high level of pigment. They glide on and blend effortlessly and have a great wear time.

When I first heard about these shade I wondered if they would be similar to other RBR shades, Bohemian Waxwing and Abyssinian Catbird. Now I have them I think they are not similar though work really well together, swatched below L-R: Bohemian Waxwing, Rain Dove, Rufous-Tailed Weaver, Abyssinian Catbird

I bought the refill pans that fit in their palette system (called Keepers) but they also come in the single compacts with mirror.

Both these shades are a must have as far as I am concerned, there is no negatives at all in the formula/application and the colours are just divine. They work so well together and I think they will complement any eye colour and skin tone.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Original Skin Blush in Habanera

Habanera is a medium warm rose terracotta. Its suggested as a shade for any medium complexion, which I am certainty not, but to have a RBR blush makes you desire more and running out of colour options to buy, I decided on Habanera (£23.23).

The shade does contain brown tones and initially I thought it would be more of a bronzer but compared to a standard bronzer (shown below with RBR Bronzing Glow Powder At Goldcombe Bay on the right) you can see that the rosy tones allow this to be used as a blush.

It has a satin finish with a soft glow, there is some fine gold shimmer but it's not visible once applied.
Swatched below twice and then blended out,

Swatched below with my other RBR blushers L-R:Orpheline, Habanera, Starina, Gracili and Delicata.

The RBR blushers have a faultless texture; smooth, creamy with a lightweight feel, which blend beautifully on the skin and have a good wear time.
My only ask if that they release more shades in the relatively small line up.

I bought this from rougebunnyrouge.com

Rouge Bunny Rouge Raven Glaze liner and the New Nocturnal Ink Satin eyeliners

Rouge Bunny Rouge have just brought out a new eyeliner called Nocturnal Ink. The Satin Eyeliner is available in three shades,
Friesian – Soft black with satin finish
Dark Bay – Deep ebony brown with satin finish
Blue Roan – Midnight petrol blue with satin finish

To say I don't get on with pen style liquid liners is an understatement, I've tried many, even those supposedly mistake proof 3 dots ones that Clarins/Bourjois brought out, but there are only a few I've found able to use. I love the look of them on others but I find the majority smudge, transfer onto the top of my lid, have too wet a consistency that bleeds out, and I can only get a really thick line that is extremely uneven.

So though I was extremely grateful to be sent the eyeliners to review I did think that having someone like me use them was testing them to the extreme. I am also going to review the Raven Glaze liner, a regular in the range but I thought it useful to compare the two formulas.
Swatched below L-R: Blue Roan, Dark Bay, Friesian and Raven Glaze

All the liners come in a slim-lined pen style and the Nocturnal Inks have a textured section to hold onto so there is no slip. The applicator tip is slim and flexible which allows you to create fine or more dramatic lines. There is a lot to like about both formulas, they are all quick drying (though the Raven isn't quite as quick) with a very long wear (I have watery eyes and would say these seem water resistant). They do not transfer, nor do they smear/smudge. The Raven Glaze liner has a more fluid texture and in some ways I find the satin liners more easy to apply, as I need to work quicker with the Raven, that said the Raven gives such a intense inky black colour that I do think it will warrant a place in your collection.

However good a liner these are the fact that I cannot hold my hands steady means I will never get a perfect line, however these are the best liquid liners I have tried, and I would say the Nocturnal inks allow you to play around more allowing them to be more mistake proof.
I was very surprised by just how comfortable these are, I am actually able to use these as base on my sensitive /dry lids, with no tightness nor unevenness, as shown below with Blue Roan used all over the lid with loose glitter pigment in Spun From Sunny Seawater and Sleeping Under a Mandarin Tree dabbed over (unblended) and then a mix of Raven Glaze and Friesian in a heavy line.
