Rituals Double Jade eyeshadow duo

Having been impressed with the wear and texture, I picked up another eyeshadow from the Dutch brand Rituals. I went for Double Jade (£14.90), which is a combo that is slightly out of my comfort zone.
It pairs a khaki brown and a lime green. I can safely say I don’t have anything like this green in my collection. The shadows feel smooth, blend and last well and both shades have good pigmentation.
I applied the colours lightly and sheered them out but you can go for a more dramatic look if desired.
Although Rituals is not a brand I feel the need to rush out and buy everything from, I always manage to pick up something when I go to their store, they have a wide range of Home/Body care products and cosmetics and there is a nice ambiance to the store.

I bought this from a Rituals store but they are also stocked in John Lewis.

Rituals Cosmetics

I’m not entirely sure how well known the Rituals brand is. I have only done one post myself and rarely see it mentioned. Its a Dutch brand which offer a wide range of Home & Body care products and also cosmetics. I think its only available in Europe and Brazil. I’d say its packaged and priced like a mid end brand.
The brands philosophy seems to be transforming our everyday routines into pampering rituals, with their inspiration sited as coming from authentic Eastern rituals.
I liked the body care products I’d tried from them so it seemed only right that I should pick up some of their makeup.
The eyeshadows are quite bulky and come in a mirrored compact with a sponge tipped applicator. I bought the shade Amber lights (£10.90), which is a gentle shimmered beige/Taupe/sand.
The texture is really smooth, easy to blend, great pigmentation and it lasts well.

The lipstick has a sheer to medium coverage, feels creamy, comfortable and quite moisturising, however its not long lasting. It also states it has an SPF15 .
I bought shade cotton candy (£11.50) which is a pink with silver shimmer.

As my By terry advanced its a bit too dark I decided to buy the dark circle concealer called Lighten up in shade 1 (£12.90).
It is very lightweight coverage and has light reflecting particles to ease off dark circles and does perk up the eye area a bit. Its a very good colour match for my pale cool toned skin.
Whilst I’d say its a lot better than similar priced brands who offer this type of product (No7, Clinique) the texture and performance is not comparable to higher end brands such as YSL, By Terry.

Overall I definitely think its worth checking out their makeup, I really like the eyeshadow and plan on going back for some other shades (they had a duo of a golden lime and khaki brown which looked very interesting).

Rituals:Home and Body Cosmetics

Whilst on a lunch break I noticed a Rituals store; I’d never heard of this brand before so thought I’d investigate. Rituals is a kind of spa brand, they sell body products, skincare, makeup and stuff for the home (laundry care, robes, tea). I instantly went towards the body section, which is divided up into three ranges; refreshing, energising and relaxing. I have really sensitive skin and have tried the cheap (Boots own brand) to the expensive (Jo Malone) in body care, and lots of the more “pure” brands such as Green people; the best brand for me is Fresh.
I am pleased to say that Rituals does not irritate my skin, scent wise they are not cloying, or overly sweet/artificial, just simple clean fresh scents.
In terms of ingredients these contain the normal ones so no paraben free, 100% organic products here, I'm afraid.
They also seem to have promos on regularly, (free products, 25% of certain items) which is a good incentive. What’s nice is that you come out the store feeling that you have treated yourself, but not with the nasty price tag.
I think my only complaint is the strange large open wicker tray they gave me when I asked for a basket, that was a rather edgy balancing act I can tell you!
So whilst I wasn’t blown away I think for the price range (shower foams are £6.25) its well worth picking up a few things when they have a promo on.
At the moment I think these are a European/UK based brand, here’s their website
