Dior Summer 2015 Tie Dye Collection: Dior Addict Tie Dye Lipsticks Cosmic Pink & Nude Fever

For those of a sensitive nature please be forewarned that I have committed beauty blogger sin and this post contains photos of used products.....

I held off buying anything from the Tie Dye Summer collection as I've had quite a few regret purchases from Dior so although initial reviews were good, I decided to wait before buying until more reviews came in and I had tested the products at the counter. Suffice to say that I ended up buying a lot less that I had initially wanted.

The Dior Addict lipsticks from this collection feature a new two-tone effect, the Dior "CD" logo is a contrasting colour throughout the bullet and the two shades are meant to create a subtle tie dye effect. Here in the UK we received six shades but some countries only got four (Cosmic Pink and Hypnotic Plum being the two shades not released in every country).

The formula has a creamy feel, there is quite a bit of slip and it feels lightweight and very moisturising. The colours apply smoothly and the two colours within each lipstick mix together evenly, though I don't get what this tie dye effect shenanigans is about as I'm not seeing it.
#004 Cosmic Pink is a pink shade with a touch of mauve and #006 Nude Fever is a beige nude, this is my favourite of the two as unlike a lot of nudes its not warmed toned and does not wash me out (probably as a bit of my natural lip colour seems to mix with this so its not a flat beige).

Coverage wise I'd say these are sheer to medium and lasting time isn't the best, 2/3 hours tops for Cosmic Pink (though this does leave a bit of a stain) and a fleeting 1 hour for Nude Fever.

Ingredients:

Whilst the colours aren't earth shattering, they are pretty and its a nice formula. Had Nude Fever lasted as long as Cosmic Pink I would have bought a back up as a good nude is not easy to find. As an aside I find these feel a bit more creamy than the normal Addicts and as the Addict lipstick line is being reformulated later this year it made me wonder if the Addicts in this collection are similar to the new formula coming out.

I bought these from http://www.escentual.com

  1. Hi dear Clare! In reality I love to see used make up because in a sense it means that the products work! Generally I always forgot to take photos of new products, because I can't wait to try them! In fact the eyeshadow palette I present in my blog or the lipsticks are always used one time or more!!!
These 2 lipstick are really pretty, especially Nude fever =)
    Have a serene Sunday,
    kisses

    1. Hi Marghe, Its very hard to resist the temptation to use new products before taking photos, sometimes I can end up with a pile of stuff waiting to have the photos taken before I can dig in :)

  2. Hey Clare, I have two of these and while they aren't bad, I'll probably never love Addicts more than Addict Extremes! These are very buttery, which means they feel good on but you are right about the lack of lasting power. Glad to hear Nude Fever doesn't wash you out tho!

    1. The Addict extremes are nice, though wonder if they will reformulate them as well if they are changing the normal Addicts?

  3. LOL. I can tell you it is stressful to take all the pictures before I actually get to use the goodies. I equally love pictures of well-loved makeup, though. :)
I didn't know these lipsticks are Addicts. I guess I haven't paid much attention to Dior this year. I like the slimmer tubes but hope they don't mess with already good formula. ;0

    1. Glad its not just me that struggles to resist the urge to use stuff before taking photos :)
I think quite a lot of people are not happy about the upcoming reformulation from what I have read, will be interesting to see what the difference is as often it can be very minor.

  4. Sometime I can't wait too and use my stuff before taking pictures of it. I think it's perfectly fine. I haven't bought anything from Dior in a while, nothing seems to strike my fancy. I do love these colours, they are very pretty.

    1. Its hard to wait isn't it :) I'm trying to limited my Dior buys, the only thing I am interested in from the Fall collection from the pics/reviews I've seen so far are the blush sticks.
