Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow Midnight Brown No.21 & Pale Barley No.22

When I bought my first Burberry shadows I was very impressed with the quality; overtime and with continued purchases my appreciation of these has risen even more.

The texture really is delightfully smooth, they don't feel dry at all and I don't get fall out. They apply and blend with nothing to fault. They have great pigment and last quite well.

Barley (£22.50) is a shimmered golden wheat shade,

Midnight brown (£22.50) is a shimmered brown without a warm unflattering tone. Though it has noticeable silver particles in the pan, it applies with complete smoothness.

Though these are probably the most shimmered shades I have from Burberry, I don't feel its over the top or ageing. These shades have gone straight to being must haves for me.

Ingredients:

I bought these from johnlewis.com

  9. These colours look lovely on you. It's interesting that Midnight Brown has such visible shimmer particles in the pan. They look quite sizeable.

I keep looking at Burberry on John Lewis (Harrods p&p always put me off), I look at the lipsticks and blusher but I know what I really want is a couple of eyeshadows. Only one more month of ban to go :D xx

    1. Hi Jane,
I was worried by the shimmer in MB when I looked at it,so was very surprised by the smoothness, the shimmer just seems to become uniform once applied, kinda odd really.
I was really glad that John Lewis started stocking it as I really try to avoid p&p as well. I think you might well have to get one Burberry shadow once your ban is over (I hope you have been stockpiling some money for when the ban is lifted you must have a huge list), I'd say rosewood or midnight brown xx

  14. Those shades look absolutely lovely on you! Of course, you have some of the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen, so you could probably smear them with mud and they'd look great. :)

Thank you for reviewing these, and especially for the picture of them applied on your eyes. I've wanted to try Burberry for some time now, but I don't have a counter in my area and hate to buy online based on swatches. You really have me wanting these shades now!!

What are your thoughts on Burberry v Hourglass eyeshadows? Which one do you prefer?

    :)

  19. Thanks Naomi :) As to which I prefer thats a tricky one, Hourglass win on the pigment but Burberry are more silky in texture, I'm not sure I can choose ;)
