Le Metier De Beaute Classic Flawless Finish Concealer SPF18

Le Metier de Beaute Classic Flawless Finish Concealer (£44) is a compact stick concealer (2.3g). There are 12 shades on offer, which I was quite impressed with, though the numbering of  shades does not go from lightest to darkness so its worth checking instore or from trusted on-line swatches, for your correct shade.


I bought this concealer for under eye use as I expected the creamy texture would break out my very acne prone skin.
It gives medium coverage, it feels extremely creamy and there is no tugging at all on application, it just glides on. However, because of this texture I really need to set this with powder to prevent creasing. The finish is natural and does not look cakey. Unfortunately, even with powder this does not have a long wear time, by mid day I can see a much reduced coverage.
I did try this on my face for review purposes, it did break me out each time, however it really worked well to cancel out redness, imperfections and lesson pore visibility.

I bought shade #01, its a tad too dark and warm, shade #3 might have been a better option as that is meant to be lighter in colour with a neutral undertone.

For me this performs better as a face concealer (unless you suffer from acne) than as an undereye concealer.
This is a highly regarded concealer however personally I think whilst its good its not exceptional and for me the lack of lasting wear time is an important factor, especially given the high price tag.

Burberry Sheer Eye Shadow Midnight Brown No.21 & Pale Barley No.22

When I bought my first Burberry shadows I was very impressed with the quality; overtime and with continued purchases my appreciation of these has risen even more.

The texture really is delightfully smooth, they don't feel dry at all and I don't get fall out. They apply and blend with nothing to fault. They have great pigment and last quite well.

Barley (£22.50) is a shimmered golden wheat shade,


Midnight brown (£22.50) is a shimmered brown without a warm unflattering tone. Though it has noticeable silver particles in the pan, it applies with complete smoothness.


Though these are probably the most shimmered shades I have from Burberry, I don't feel its over the top or ageing. These shades have gone straight to being must haves for me.

Dior Addict Lipstick in Palace #354 (Croisette Summer)

The Dior Croisette Summer collection features three limited edition shades of Addict Lipstick (#354 Palace, #414 Casual Gold and #544 Jet Set). All shades are on the sheer side.


Palace (£24) is a peach nude with hint of pink, it has a high gloss/shine finish. I think if you have pigmented lips then the shade Jet Set, with is a stronger peach tone, might be a better option.

The formula is soft, smooth and glides on whilst feeling hydrating. Its not as light weight as the Chanel Coco shines but unfortunately has the same fleeting wear time.
Overall it gives a very soft peachy nude shine to the lips and is great to pair with a bolder eye, though I think the colour payoff may be a disadvantage to a lot of people.

Chanel Sable-Émouvant Eyeshadow Duo

The Chanel Sable-Émouvant Eyeshadow Duo (£30) was released as part of the Chanel Summer 2012 collection.

It features a sandy beige and a chocolate brown, both shades are intertwined with a fine shimmer.

Unfortunately on my cool toned skin, whilst the brown does not go on really warm/red toned, the beige goes on with a predominate warm peach tone. The only way I can wear it is by using a very cool toned all over base shadow to dilute the warmth.

The shadows feel quite smooth, have very good pigment, blend easily and last well. I think the duos are easily Chanel's best shadow formula and really hope they replace the baked shadow quads we get with the duo formula.

Its a classic combination of warmed shades for a natural look. Chanel seem to excel in bringing out tried and tested colours and just making them that little bit more special.
Though for me these are not the best colours for my cool toned complexion, I think if you like your warm toned everyday shades this will be a good addition to your collection.

L’Occitane Pivoine Délicate Lipstick Corail Charmant

 L’Occitane have brought out a new limited edition collection called Pivoine Délicate. The range is based around the Peony flower and includes an Eau de Toilette, Lip glosses, lip balms, Lipsticks, Hand Cream, perfume roll on/gloss duo and a Shimmering Powder.

The packaging is really pretty and feminine with gentle pink cardboard boxes adorned with drawings of peonies. Unable to resist I had to buy at least one item from the range.

I've had a few L’Occitane lipsticks in the past and they have all been sheer, because of this I ordered the brightest looking lipstick out of the 3, Corail Charmant (£12.50).

Though it appears as a rather feisty coral in the tube it applies as a sheer coral pink with a slight sheen.

Thought is doesn't last long, it glides on and feels quite moisturising, the texture has a balm quality about it but without the heavy feel.

Ingredients below, this lipstick is scented.
