A few picks from MAC Semi Precious & Fashion Flower

A pattern is emerging with the first week of every month, my lunch break on that first Thursday has become a race to how quickly I can get over to the MAC store, peruse new items and then inevitably buy a few things. So lets begin...

Gem of Roses is a medium slightly warm, almost strawberry, pink.
One of a Kind is a rosy/brown, berry.
Both have semi sheer pigment but are buidable and they have a lustre finish, both cost £13.50 each.

After seeing posts online, the Mineralize Blush in Pressed Amber (£18) intrigued me, just how wearable could this unashamedly brown blush be?

The colour is different to what I would normally wear. Its a warmed brown/beige with a satin finish. As long as I apply this very lightly it works, giving definition and warmth to the skin.
Ultimately I do think this is probably best suited for those NC/NW 25 or above as if I apply a smidge too much it can have that dirty look about it.
The texture is smooth and pigment is very good, I’d heard some negatives about its wear time but this lasts all day on me, but then I do have dry skin.
Ingredients:

I’d been looking for another all over eye brush similar to my Chanel #17 for a while now and the #235 Split Fibre All Over Eye Brush (£21) seemed very similar.
If you already have the Chanel#17 and unlike me don’t like to have multiple types of the same/similar brush then you can probably give this a miss as they really are close.

The brush is soft but also had a bit of firmness to allow for a pigmented application of colour. Although the split idea of the brushes is an interesting concept I do wonder how many people will actually use them as intended.

From Fashion Flower I only picked up the beauty powder in Light Sunshine (£20.50).
Its a very pale whitened pink. Although it does contain very small micro glitter I do not notice any once applied. Its has quite a smooth texture and lasts well. The effect is a very subtle glow and it works well on my pale complexion as a highlighter.

I pleased with everything, which is quite an accomplishment given the amount of fails I’ve had with MAC.

I bought all these from a MAC store.

  1. I really like the look of the lipsticks, very pretty. Most unusually for me I haven't yet been to MAC so I think I will have to check this collection out.

  6. Hi Meeta,
The lipsticks are lovely, I think Gem of Roses is likely to sell out. It was very quiet in the store which did surprise me for the first day of launch.

    Hi Vintage Makeup,
Glad you like the swatches :) Gem of Roses is lovely, at first I thought it was just your normal pink but it has this lovely bit of brightness about it, very glad I got it :)

    Hi Makeup Magpie,
I could see that one of a kind would get overlooked as it doesn't necessarily look enticing in the tube, it is nice though, more your typical fall colour though.

    Hi faye lu,
    Glad to help :)

    Hi Nina,
I know what you mean, I think money wise I'd rather they only brought out 1 collection at a time at most, either that or I need to learn the word "restraint" ;) x

    Hi Hopelessly Devoted To Makeup,
I do really like MAC eye brushes, I'll have to check if this is limited edition as if so I might pick up another one.

  7. "Restraint"?
No, sorry, the word doesn't ring a bell. But then again, I'm only a foreigner with poor command of your language...that must be it. Apologies :)))

  8. Hi Replica! There we go doing synchronized shopping again! I got the 235 too because my 239 always seems to be dirty and the 227 is too big sometimes. I'm hoping to use the synthetic side to pick up cream shadows. ALso got the 128 face brush, haven't tried it yet but will probably use it for cream blushes? The surprise purchase for me was the Mineralize shadow in Rare Find (plummy/grey with magenta veining) as I didn't expect to like anything =/ It looks a lot like the Earthly Riches Mineralize LE duo but applies different based on where in the pan you pick up product from.
@Nina LOL! I have absolutely no idea what that "word" means either... hmmm maybe we should discuss over a shopping outing? kthanksbye!!! :P

  9. @Lakshmi...I am Greek and genetically programmed to be unable to refuse an invitation for a shopping outing :) Any plans, count me in!

  10. Hi Nina,
LOL, I like your excuse x

    Hi Lakshmi,
I didn't really pay much attention to the shadows, I might have to go back and have a better look at that one ;)
I am really liking the #235 for cream shadows, so quick and easy. I was tempted by the cheek brush, so if you do rate it I'd be interested to know :)
