So I went back for Sourire... Sourire (£23) along with Culte (£23) are
part of a small collection of new lip shades that Chanel released at the
start of April (my previous post is here).Whilst these are a European
release at the moment, my understanding is that they are rolling out the
collection in America around Summer.
Whilst Sourire #70 was described as a peachy pink it actually goes on as a petal pink
on me, the colour is sheer and there is subtle golden micro glitter
present.
It is very pretty but I'll have to pretend to myself that I
don't already have similar shades. I think if you like the look of a
gloss but not the feel then the Coco shines are a good alternative.
My mother picked up Culte #42 but let me try it for this post. Its a
very cool toned plummy/brown burgundy.
Whilst I really like the colour
swatched, applied the purple tone pulls too strong and it doesn't work
for me, I don't think its the easiest shade to wear but I think this one
is going to vary quite a bit depending on your natural lip pigment. I
find the formula of the Rouge Coco's to vary, the majority I have tried
are a bit drying (such as Culte) but there are a few that are more
moisturising/have more slip. Nonetheless Culte does last extremely well.
We bought these from Debenhams.

I really like Sourire. x
ReplyDeleteHello,
DeleteIts a very easy to throw on shade for a subtle pink lip :)
They are lovely shades - Culte looks particularly interesting.
ReplyDeleteI did like the look of the new colours when I had a quick look instore, especially in the Rouge Coco Shines. Even after seeing the new lippie releases by other brands, I still keep reaching for the Rouge Allures and Coco Shines the most, there is something about the formula I really like.
Hi Meeta,
DeleteI am sure I read somewhere that they are reformulating the Rouge Allures and bringing the new ones out later this year?
I do like my Chanel lipsticks:)
I think we are getting that Roses Ultimes de Chanel collection this month as well, it seems we are getting a lot more collections between the main releases.
Ilike the Rouge Coco Shines best, they feel so good on the lips. I have only one Rouge Coco and like you, I find them a little drying. Sourire looks pretty, I bet it looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jacqueline :) I'm sure I'll end up buying the Coco Shines from the Summer release as well, can't seem to get enough of them :)
DeleteSourire is lovely! I'm not a fan of the feeling of gloss so it's right up my alley!
ReplyDeleteHi Vintage Makeup,
DeleteI'm not a gloss fan either, very few brands I like for gloss, they always look so pretty its just the feel of them I'm not keen on :)
Thanks for the teaser. Sourire looks really pretty, but I wonder how similar it is to RCS in Chance. Too bad about the shimmer; I prefer my Rouge Coco Shines without, but those are few and far between
ReplyDeleteCulte looks so purple in the tube and yet so muted, almost brown on your skin.
Hi Zuzu,
DeleteI think it will come off sheerer than Chance, probably one you could do with testing in store.
Yes, Culte looks better swatched than it does in the tube :)
Thanks, I have to hit the stores within the next day or so for a Mother's Day present, so I will stop by the Chanel counter for sure! As you know I just can't get enough of these. I think I am up to 10 RCSs.
DeleteWell I'm sure you will show restraint at the counter....... ;)
DeleteSourire is gorgeous!! I have to go try it on now. I only have Boy and Royallieu, but might just have to add Sourire to my stash! I find so many of the Chanel lipstick formulas to be drying on my lips, but the RCS formula is fantastic!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lola,
ReplyDeleteThe RCS is the best formula from Chanel imo. I think I have been meaning to pick up Boy since they first came out, but I keep getting sidetracked by other shades :)
