The Illuminating Highlight Pen is meant to "allow you to enhance, contour
or diminish your features to create the appearance of symmetry".
There are eight shades, 4 shimmery and 4 matte, the shimmery
ones are meant to "catch the light and bring focus to the cheekbones
and eyes to create balance and symmetry" and the mattes are to
"act as skin–priming concealers to diminish flaws and shadows". All
eight tones are meant to "soften and diffuse light for a smooth and
undetectable finish".
The concealer comes in a mahogany tube and has a white synthetic
brush head. The product dispenses via twist-up packaging. I bought
05 Naked Bisque (£40) which is a ivory/nude shade with pink
undertones.
Shown below on the left with the Burberry Sheer Luminous Concealer in Light Beige on the right to show the pink tones of the Tom Ford.
It has a creamy texture and more pigment that say YSL Touche Eclat.
It gives light coverage and a slight illumination, though matte in
finish rather than shimmery. It does make the skin texture look
smoother and flaws softened and looks very natural on.
Texture/performance wise it goes on
easily and doesn't migrate into lines, to get a full days wear I do
have to set with powder though.
Shown below before and after,
I am tempted to pick up 07 Amber Eclat to use as a colour corrector
under concealer as I have read many positive reviews about that
particular shade for offsetting dark circles.

I think this one did a great job of covering! Not sure if you need the other one based on this picture. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Liz :) I do like to try and obliterate my under eye discoloration so tend to feel the need to layer :)
DeleteOh wow, this actually covers pretty well! I have actually never tried Touche Eclat, but I'm glad to hear this one packs more pigment. That's almost always a good thing ;)
ReplyDeleteIt does offer more cover than the YSL, though less illumination, I do really like it but the price does make me scream a bit ;)
DeleteOoh another TF item to try for myself. You temptress!
ReplyDeleteyou tempt me all the time so its only fair I return the favour ;)
DeleteSounds really great, especially for covering!
ReplyDeleteIt is worth a space on your wish list :)
DeleteI never tried Tom Ford products but this looks just like something I may want to try.
ReplyDeleteI think the range is worth trying, though I do think its a bit overpriced.
DeleteWow it's more pigmented than YSL Touche Eclat :D
ReplyDeleteYour blog is tempting me to buy so many things, Clare :D
well you always having me wanting more so its good to be able to add some things to your wish list as well :)
DeleteWow this looks really nice!! I just ordered the Ellis Faas concealer and the Armani (the one with the teeny tiny brush forgot what it's called). I'm determined to find something that will work well with my eye cream, yet not crease. I'll have to remember this one if the others don't work out! Thanks for the great review!!
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I heard great things about the EF one, I had the foundation a while back, wasn't a love though but the concealer is meant to be better
DeleteDo you mean the thin stick brush tube Armani one, I've had that in two colours, quite nice, sheer though, not got the creaminess of the TF. I hope you get good results with what you ordered as the TF price is a bit upsetting I find :)
x
Yes that's the one!! I test drove it a couple of times but the color was too light. I did like it for very subtle concealing but more for brightening. Very interested to see if the EF is as good as Lipstick Boulevards says it is :-) If not I may need to suck it up and get the TF...
Deleteoops forgot to say I reordered the armani in what is hopefully the correct color. I'd like to have at least one concealer I love so we shall see lol!
DeleteI bet if you do a rave review for it, I'll feel the need to buy it again, such is your influence! :)
