Rouge Bunny Rouge Bashful Flamingo & Sweet Dust Seriema

For Spring RBR released two new matte eyeshadows (£22 each).
The mattes have an amazingly buttery, smooth texture. They really set a new standard for matte shadows and they have definitely given me higher expectations when I come to using other brands.
They feel lightweight, blend beautifully and have great pigmentation. With an eye base they last all day with no colour fade.
Sweet Dust Seriema is described as a cool toned dusty mauve taupe, on me I'd say its more of a dusty mauve grey rather than taupe. I don't have a shade like it, it really is just very pretty and gives a polished look. If you like your cool tones and want an everyday shade you can just throw on then I'd highly recommend this.
Bashful Flamingo is a pale pink that applied with a peachy edge on my cool toned skin. Its got too much colour to work as an all over base on my skin tone but as a lid shade it works really well to perk up the eyes giving a fresh natural look.
As I am really pale I can actually use this on the cheeks to give a really natural, subtle hint of colour to the face.
Yet again RBR triumphs and these are great additions to their matte shade line up.

I bought these from zuneta.com

  1. I was thinking that these new shades would not work on my colouring but I really like the look of both, especially Bashful Flamingo. They do not look as pale as I had first anticipated.

    1. Hi Meeta,
The pigment is really good, I find I am getting a lot of use out of both the shades x

  2. These both look really pretty, I especially like how smooth they look when swatched. I'm still waiting for the RBR eye shadow palettes, I hope some of the mattes will be available in palettes as well. x

    1. Hi Klara,
They are wonderfully smooth. I don't think that mattes are being released with the first lot of shades this month for the palettes but I am sure they will bring out more of their shades in the pan formula x

  3. I agree with Meeta, Bashful Flamingo looks a lot more colourful than I had anticipated. I love the look and your description of Sweet Dust Seriema, you can be pretty sure that this will be one of my 1st purchases on the 1st July!!! Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts as always xx

    1. Hi Jane,
Well when Sweet Dust Seriema first came out it just had your name written on it, I wonder if you are going to go on some crazy makeup bender on the 1st July ;) xx

  4. I use to stay away from matts because I thought they looked boring but it isn't the case. They look great on eyes especially if they are smooth and blendable. These RBR ones look fantastic, Sweet Dust Serima especially.

    1. Hi Jacqueline,
Your right, when a matte is done so well like these are, they can become indispensable :)

    1. Hi PerilouslyPale,
Thats the thing with RBR isn't as soon as you try another product from the collection you then want the rest of the colour range :)

    1. Hi Vintage Makeup,
I think it will be a very popular shade for those who like their cool tones :)

  7. I just received Sweet Dust Seriema, Chestnut-Napped Apalis, Blackpepper Jay, & Grey Go-Away Lourie. I now wish that I had added Bashful Flamingo and Papyrus Canary. I've been wearing and loving Sweet Dust Seriema, but haven't photographed the others yet- so I won't let myself use them. I was unsure about the matte shades at first, but agree wholeheartedly with you and Perilously Pale-- they are absolutely incredible. They are so soft and buttery that it is hard to believe that they are actually mattes. Replica- you are so right- they really do raise the bar on all of the matte eye shadows out there! It seems that there is simply no end to this RBR addiction that we share!!

    1. Hi Lola,
You got a great range of shades there. I think your right it is a bit of an addiction, they really seem to do no wrong and its hard to think of many other brands that have such a consistently high quality as RBR :)

    3. You and me both, still at least they don't tend to have that many new things come out, just imagine if they put out as many collections as MAC! :)

    4. Can you imagine that?!!! We would all have to move into one central Beauty Blogger's Homeless Shelter, and share one pathetic outdated computer with a dial up modem that we found on the street. We could start a new trend "Hobo Chic"makeup. LOL

    5. LOL, what a strange image, lets hope it won't come to that ;) x

    1. Hi Zuzu,
I think you are a tad darker than me but I do think its worth you giving it a try as a blush. Thank you for your wonderful review which convinced me to get BF :)

  9. The only, and I mean ONLY thing that has kept me from trying RBR is that they are only online and I never trust online swatches. Any suggestions for what might be a safe "first purchase" for a fair-skinned, dark-haired, dark-eyed girl in love with red lips and neutral eyes? :)

  10. Hi Shannon,
For neutral eyes I say the shadow duo in A Major - fis Minor, single shadow in Solstice Halcyon, loose glitter pigment in Caress of Mink & Embrace of Cashmere. In terms of red lips the only shade I have had in the red family is Word of Mouth which I think would suit you :)
