There was a time that I thought that you couldn't have enough lipsticks, however as I looked at my entire collection last week, I realised I had in fact gone beyond this and it was time to rein it in. Problem is I have a weakness for these Coco Shines and evil Chanel keep bringing out new ones. I had a momentary ridiculous thought that I should just stop buying so many lipsticks, but that is not the beauty blogger way, so my resolve has been to cut my stash quite mercilessly (apart from my top 3 favourite formula's, aforementioned Coco shines, Rouge Bunny Rouge, By Terry).
So its all looking a bit less obscene now and I feel happy to go merrily on my way with my Coco Shine addition......

  1. OMG what a collection! At least they're balm-y so you can reapply and not feel bad :)

    1. Hi Procrastinator,
Yes, they do need to be reapplied often :)

  2. That's a lovely collection, the Rouge Coco Shines are so tempting! Thank you for posting these pictures, it's good being able to see lots of colours all together.

    1. Hi Meeta,
I'm glad its useful, I did try and fit all the swatches on one arm but it just wasn't happening :)

  3. Replica, what a beautiful collection of RCS. I sometimes feel like that too, I've stopped buying lipsticks for the moment because I feel like I have way too many at the moment. I'm trying not to look at newer colours. I've got a weakness for Burberry, Chanel Rouge Allures and YSL glossy stains. I also have a big weakness for reds. Unfortunately the new Shiseido rouge lacquers are call out to me. I'm dying to swatch the reds for that collection.

    1. Hi Jacqueline,
I like Burberry as well and speaking of Rouge Allures I'll be very interested to see what their reformulated ones are like, I think they are coming out very soon :)

    1. Hi Miaka,
Thank you :) Boy is a really great shade I can see why they released that one first.

    1. Hi Drama Makeup,
It is nice seeing them together, mind you it was real hard getting an ok photo that wasn't completely out of focus :)

  8. That is an impressive looking collection. You need one of the counter stands at home to pop them all in! I still only have the one Coco Shine but I use it quite a bit and it is a nice formula.

I don't have any By Terry lipsticks but I'm intrigued as you've mentioned them together with the Coco Shines and RBR. Both Grace and you are making me keen on a trip to SpaceNK!

    1. Thanks Jane, so I need to steal a counter stand you are telling me ;)
I really think you should have a closer look at By Terry, the pigment and wear is impressive, if I have something like a meeting to go to I tend to grab one of those xx

  9. That is fabulous. I'm ashamed that I don't have a single Chanel lipstick! Bows down to you.

  11. What a pretty collection. Love the colors and the packaging!

What is your rule of thumb on when to throw out lipsticks?

  12. Hi Krystle,
Thank you :) If a lipstick starts smelling off or the texture feels different then I throw it out regardless of how long I have had it, otherwise I stick to not keeping lipsticks more than 4 years old, as I figure if I still have it left after that time then I must not have like the shade enough ;)

  13. I love the coco shines too. I justify my rather large collection by rotating two lipsticks in my purse for one week. That way I make sure I use them! It gets really sad when I look though and I start finding old barely touched makeup that just has to go in the bin. I find the chanels have a pretty decent longevity, but I haven't been so lucky with my bobbi browns.

  14. Hi Crissy,
Yes, I work on a rotation basis as well :) Funny you should say that about Bobbi Browns as I found that older ones would take on a funny smell!

  15. Such eye candy!! Gorgeous collection! :) I have been collecting RC shines slowly but surely and since they are one of my fave lipstick formulas I *somehow* think it's justified ;)
My most used one is Bel Ami and the most unexpected one: Style-- for a nude it is surprisingly flattering, maybe because of the gold shimmer? And an Asia exclusive you will love: Premice. Very, very pretty, one of my all time faves. :)
    Hope you've been well!

  18. Hi Lakshmi,
Thanks, I managed to withhold getting the fall ones, trying to curb it and all :)I was surprised how wearable Style is, I think your right that the gold shimmer helps. I will of course how to look for Premice now :) x
